A Pompey boy born and bred I love growing, cooking and eating good, honest grub.

The past four years of my time have been spent learning the craft of organic food growing.  Training with both Organic Lea and Growing Communities.

I am also a chef with over fifteen years of experience in the hospitality industry.  I’ve worked alongside great cooks such as Laura Jackson, Rachael O’Sullivan, Rosie Sykes, Kevin Mcfadden and Bill Granger.  Diggin’ Roots is the culmination of everything I’ve learned on my food journey so far.  Now with the help of my family and friends we're bringing the farm to your fork!

I currently split my time between farming at Northdown Orchard and growing the Diggin’ Roots veg box scheme.  This means I’m at the heart of sowing, planting, weeding, harvesting and packing the vegetables in your lovely box.

Our family likes to grow and cook fresh, healthy, seasonal veg. For a while now we have wondered if this thing we enjoy doing could be offered to our local community.  So here it goes.......

Enter Diggin’ Roots!

We grow and share food in a way that is good for people and planet.

We work hard to grow as much produce as possible at Northdown Orchard in South Litchfield, a small family farm who have been producing organic fruit and vegetables for an amazing 30 years!  Rest assured that if it can’t be grown there we will only work with other farms that share our principles.

We grow a varied selection of fresh vegetables, salads and herbs using sustainable farming methods. Farming responsibly is at the core of Diggin' Roots.  This means we grow using organic methods and never use chemical pesticides or fertilisers.

Our produce is hand picked with love and care.  At the end of harvest day we take it to Diggin’ Roots HQ where it is packed and distributed locally.
